Formlabs Form 2
The Form 2 is the second generation SLA printer from Formlabs. With a large build volume of 145mm x 145mm x 175mm, the Form 2 delivers good size prints at an excellent level of detail by using a 250mW precision laser, guided by custom-built galvanometers.
As an SLA (stereolithogrpahy) desktop 3D printer, the Form 2 is designed to deliver high levels of detail and a smoother surface finish, making it ideally suited to design applications where precision and a high level of intricacy is required, in particular for electronic engineering, in medical devices and robotics.
The Form 2 uses a range of Formlabs resins in a variety of colours and different materials including High Temperature and Flexible resins. Using a cartridge system allows for larger prints in a cleaner environment, with a higher success rate through the use of a heated resin tank and new peel mechanism. The cartridges also contain a chip to communicate with the printer when the resin level drops too low.
The Form 2 has excellent connectivity via Ethernet, Wi-Fi and USB and is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems.
